How to turn-on, navigate, and customize the text-to-speech features
Within this guide:
GSEonline offers two options for text-to-speech: Audiosync and the Listen Tool
Audiosync is available in Student Edition textbooks. Used to listen to full pages.
The Listen Tool is available in all textbooks. Used as clickable sentence reader which allows the user to jump around or reread sentences.
Audiosync
1. Open a Student Edition book in the Reader
2. As you read, you may see audiosync buttons at the top of pages
This tool reads the text aloud, tracking by word-level and sentence-level highlighting. Typically, the main body text will be read first, followed by any sidebar text on the page

3. Click on the icon to launch the audiosync player
This will also launch the audiosync menu. In this menu, you can do several actions to customize your listening experience.

4. Click and drag the "Drag Me" icon to move the audiosync player
5. Click "Pause" or "Play" to stop or resume the audio
6. Click "Speed" to slow down or speed up the audio by clicking an option from the menu
7. Click "Select Color" to change the highlight color
8. Click "Mute" or "Unmute" to turn off or on the sound
9. Slide the volume bar to turn the volume up or down
10. Click "Close" to close the audiosync player
Note: This will also turn off the audio

Listen Tool
1. Open any book in the Reader
2. Click the Listen Tool icon
This tool can be used as a clickable sentence reader, allowing users to jump around the page and reread sentences for a customized reading experience. This tool can also read languages other than English, such as Spanish or French.

3. Click text on the page to start reading from that point
Continue to click around the page to listen to different parts read aloud.

4. Click forward or back to go to the next or previous sentence
Tip: You can also click another point on the page to go forward or backward

5. Click play or pause to start or stop the audio
6. Click the speaker icon to mute or unmute the audio
7. Select the audio speed to speed up or slow down the audio
8. Select a color or remove color to customize your view
9. If you book is in a language other than English, you can select a new voice from the menu
