Managing and Addressing Broken Links
Broken links in the Student Editions can be frustrating, but they may occur due to changes in domain organization and hyperlink structures, which are beyond our control. To assist in these situations, the Teacher Guide provides a valuable resource. It includes all the Interactive Content Links found in the Student Edition, along with the titles of the third-party web pages and activities. By searching for these titles online, teachers can often locate the desired content quickly.
To address broken links proactively, we’ve implemented a new feature that scans books on the reader and flags broken links. Our digital team shares these findings with the curriculum and production teams, who research suitable replacements. Updates to digital links are made as soon as possible, while updates requiring new book files are scheduled biannually (at the end of the school year and in December).
For critical issues, such as links leading to inappropriate content, we prioritize immediate corrections. As we roll out this feature, we are focusing first on collections with the highest user activity and will systematically update all collections.
We appreciate teachers notifying us of broken links they encounter and thank you for your patience as we work through this process to ensure a better experience for everyone.
How to Reach Out and Report Broken Links
To bring broken links to our attention, you can utilize the chat bot on the Knowledge Base (see image below). To ensure we are able to locate and investigate the link, please be sure to provide the book title, page number, and URL.
